Shake off winter with our spring campaign!

This season, why not hold your own fundraising tea-party or cake sale for Syria? Or, if you can’t organise one yourself, why not attend one in your area?

Your event can be as simple or as grand as you like, and our free resources will help you get started. We even have a few sample recipes, including some popular Syrian ones!

What could you do?

You might like to hold a tea party with your friends, a coffee morning at work, or a cake sale at your children’s school. Or you could get people to donate cakes, jams etc and then sell them on a charity stall in your local market, or in your village hall or community centre. You could even combine it with a dress-down day at work or school, to get even more people’s attention. How you do it is up to you!

Resources to help you

We’ve produced some attractive resources to help you get started, including posters, flyers and some sample recipes. These are free to download and use. However, if you want any further support or advice, please do contact us.

For those who can’t attend your event…

If people can’t make it, you could include details of how to donate on your invitation. They can give via our website, or by texting HIHS10 £10 to 70070 (this will donate £10 to hand in Hand for Syria).

Tell us about your event

We’d love to hear what you have planned. If it’s a public event, email us the details so we can add it to our events page and help to promote it. Afterwards, do send us some photos to add to our photo gallery and to share on Facebook and Twitter.

How to send us the funds you raised

When you’re ready to pay the money over to us, treat it like a donation – you can donate by PayPal, bank transfer, over the counter or by cheque. Please note that if you’re paying in donations on behalf of a group of people and you’d like us to claim Gift Aid, we can only do that if you send us a Gift Aid form (it’s quite simple!) signed by each tax-paying donor. Just use our sponsorship form to collect their details and signatures, and then post it in to us. Alternatively, encourage your friends to come online and donate via our website.
